| FIC: Que Sera, Sera (tpm100 challenge: faith) |
[Jun. 12th, 2009|10:38 am] |
"Another solution will present itself," Qui-Gon said, and deactivated the comlink. Even at this distance, he could feel his padawan's scepticism, his impatience, his fear.
He'd taught Obi-Wan facts, and katas, and how to listen to the Force. But he couldn't teach faith. That lesson came with time, and Qui-Gon could feel his days running ever more swiftly outward, like a river into the sea.
He feared nothing, least of all death. He trusted the Force enough to let go of his own destiny. Whatever happened was meant to be. He only hoped one day Obi-Wan would embrace the lesson. |

| FIC (repost): The Red Band - Part 1: The Talks |
[Jun. 11th, 2009|07:48 pm] |
Amazingly enough, I am still getting feedback on this series, mostly pleas for me to finish it, even though the last part came out in 2001. I put it on the back burner after Part 6, which ended on a somewhat hopeful note. The series could probably stand as it is, with the reader imagining a "happily ever after" scenario. However, I *do* have the rest of it plotted out and most of Part 7 written, and I *do* intend to finish the series (should I live that long). I just have other stuff I'd rather work on first.
The Red Band started out as a single story, my first slash offering to the Master-Apprentice list (December 1999). That original story is now Part 2 of the series. Within four days I had written this prequel, which I'm reposting first. The rest of the series came out of my absolute addiction to Angst. The series features DamagedBastard!Qui-Gon and StoicVictim!Obi-Wan, and it's not for the faint of heart. Again, I've resisted the temptation to edit it. Enjoy!

| My dirty secret |
[Jun. 10th, 2009|11:58 am] |
I've decided to start posting my old fics here as a way of backing them up. I admit to my chagrin that I also hope to get a few ego strokes from people who may not have read my older stuff. I find myself in need of adulation today. *G*
So I've been re-reading my old stuff from 9-10 years ago. It's tempting to edit it; there are a lot of bad habits I've striven hard to overcome, and it makes me cringe to see them in my own stories. But I will resist the temptation. They're not THAT bad.
In fact, they're pretty hot, if I do say so myself. Am I the only person who goes back to read her own stories and thinks, "DAMN, I'm good"? Sometimes when I want a quick turn-on, the only thing I can find to satisfy me is one of my own stories. I guess it's because I write for my own enjoyment, fleshing out my own kinks. But still, it seem terribly egoistic of me, doesn't it?
So, please to forgive the self-centeredness. I am grateful for your indulgence! So as not to overwhelm, I'll not post more than one story per day. If you've already read them, don't feel obliged to comment. And if you haven't ... don't feel obliged to comment. However, if you throw a bone of praise my way, I will try not to soak you with my tears of gratitude and joy. And if you want to critique or roast me on a spit, feel free. It's all good. |

| Are you watching 368 Days on LJ? |
[Jun. 10th, 2009|10:29 am] |
I have a question for my DW friends here. I know some folks here may not be checking LJ very much anymore. So, does anybody need a reminder when we post a new entry on 368days?
At some point soon, maliwane and I plan to migrate the whole shebang over here and start crossposting, but Real Life, you know? :-(
(Self-pimp: for those who don't know what that is, 368 Days a humongous, smutty WIP starring Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan, a couple of OCs, and a crapload of action/adventure/drama/UST, not to mention all sorts of sexual shenanigans. Go to the Jediphiles website if you have a lot of time to waste and you want to start reading it from the beginning.) |

I never bothered to get a paid account on LJ, so I only have 6 userpics over there. Here, though, I have TONS. I am indulging my latent designer talents to create a bunch of new ones. Here's another Spock:

| FIC: Fifth Element (tpm100 challenge: elements) |
[May. 7th, 2009|04:23 pm] |
The Jedi retired to their nerf-skin tent; the celebratory fire-dancing had ended, and the Yorshi camp was settling in for the longest night of the year.
Obi-Wan shucked his boots and dove onto the sleep mat. "It's odd, Master. So many primitives divide the cosmos into the same four elements."
Qui-Gon lay down beside him with a grunt. "Earth, water, air, fire. What are they in scientific terms?"
Obi-Wan rolled closer, unashamedly seeking body heat. "The three states of matter ... plus energy. Quite elegent. But they left one off."
"The Force?" Qui-Gon mused, kissing the spiky head.
"Nope. Love." |

I've gone and removed you from my friends list on LJ. Let me know if you are NOT cross-posting here yet and I need to add you back! *G* |

Given everything that's happening on LJ, I'm looking for a home for my fannish pursuits. I hope this can be it. I'll start copying everything soon, including "368days" (sorry, no link because I haven't figured out the codes yet). |
